The above video shows Royal Scotsman coaching stock departing from Boat of Garten for Aviemore. Its passengers had already been taken
off by coach somewhere for a day out. The Royal Scotsman's visit to Aviemore is
included in the :- Classic: a 720 mile, four-night trip from Edinburgh to Kyle of Lochalsh and back including visits to Strathisla Distillery, Plockton, the Strathspey Railway and Glamis Castle. If you want to go on a luxury train trip with only a small number of people, this is the way to do it! Visit the Royal Scotsman's web site and check up on "The ultimate luxury train experience". |
The 31 Class engine 31327 is based at the Strathspey Railway but in private ownership. Whilst searching for information on the engine I came across a website devoted to giving information about the constantly changing numbers of stored engines on the rail network as a whole. It looked an interesting site so here is the link to wnxx.com. The site notes that on 24 Feb 2007 there were a total of 696 loco's in store. Some of which will no doubt find their way into private ownership and heritage railways. | ||
