| The City of Truro waits patiently at Boat of Garten for the all clear to set off for Broomhill. If you checked the York railway museums stock list (on the link) you willl note it is listed as 3417. The link to the Great Western Archive pages details the changes and gives lots of interesting information. | The end of the wait is near, the fireman's finished his firing duties for the time being, and the engine is responding well with a little black smoke. Which no doubt keeps the onlookers happy! The man on the nearside of the cab works for the Carlisle based West Coast Railway Company. I did have a wee conversation with him but needless to say never took any notes! | ||||
| By now it's mid afternoon and still a glorious day. City has arrived at Aviemore and is running around the train in preparation for the return trip to Boat of Garten and Broomhill. I think the West Coast Railway Company were contracted by the railway museum to oversee their asset on its 'tour'. | Point change completed 'City' reverses up to its train for the next trip. The video doesn't do justice to the beautiful countryside around Aviemore. If you've never been there I can recommend it to anyone. steam railway fan or not! | ||||
