Lots of people will start to read a newspaper at the back so that's what I have done here.  The last train of the day has arrived at Pickering and 'Black 5' 45212 has run around the train, taken water and is heading back up the line to Grosmont, and it's shed, or Motive Power Depot, if you want to be posh.  This link will take you to a site with more pictures of 45212 at the NYMR. This video clip shows 45212 taking water.  It could be used as a training exercise!  The lesson to be learnt is; when you are filling up a tender always make sure the bag (that's the big hose bit to non railway folk) is hanging vertically into the top of the tender.  Otherwise your feet get wet!  This link will take you to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway site.
Seen from the top of the platform at Pickering is diesel shunter D2207 having a day off after, no doubt some hard shunting duties! Also at Pickering is what appears to be a newly repainted (and/or refurbished) carriage, attached to power driven crane.
